How every lesson works

Each lesson starts with a short, plain-English explanation, followed by a real-life example that makes the idea click. Then you see real ServiceNow code with a line-by-line explanation, the most common mistake people make, and a quick check to test yourself. Every ServiceNow term is explained the moment it appears, so you never get stuck on jargon.

Basic JavaScript and a free ServiceNow Personal Developer Instance (PDI).

Frequently asked questions
Is this course free?

Yes. Every lesson is free to read, and you do not need to sign up to use it.

Do I need my own ServiceNow instance?

It is strongly recommended. You can get a free Personal Developer Instance (PDI) from developer.servicenow.com and try every example yourself, which is the fastest way to learn.

How much JavaScript do I need to know?

Just the basics: variables, if statements, functions and objects. Lessons explain everything specific to ServiceNow from scratch.

Which ServiceNow release is this based on?

Every lesson shows the release its code was tested on, right below the lesson title. Lessons are currently tested on Australia.

Is GlideNest official ServiceNow training?

No. GlideNest is an independent learning website. It works well alongside the official Now Learning courses by explaining concepts in simpler language with practical examples.

Will this help me in ServiceNow interviews?

Yes. The lessons cover the concepts interviewers ask about most, like Business Rule types, GlideRecord and client-server scripting. A dedicated interview prep section is coming soon.

How often are new lessons added?

Regularly. Lessons marked "Soon" in the syllabus are on the way, in the order shown.
